German Historical Institute London: Feminism & The Media Exhibition
I am currently curating an exhibition on the relationship between the 20th century growth of mass media and women’s rights movements in an international context. Through a series of key case studies, it will illustrate how feminists have mobilized and negotiated media to advance women’s rights and contest gender stereotypes, while also attending to the ambivalence, changeable and potentially contradictory nature of women’s relation to the media across different time periods and contexts.
University of Leeds: Imagining Posthuman Care
As a postdoctoral research and engagement fellow on the AHRC project Imagining Posthuman Care at the University of Leeds, I am working with the project PI to produce an exhibition on care robots at the Thackray Museum in Leeds and associated programming.
Past Projects
Queer Migrations
As part of work with the Migration Museum in London, I planned, programmed and delivered a late event of conversation, spoken word and music, exploring LGBTQI+ migration stories.
The performers explored diverse topics including the experiences and legacies of migration, the intimate politics of the body and the afterlives of empire. The evening celebrated creative work's potential to move, to unsettle, to queer and to create new spaces and communities.
Visitors also had the chance to hear about the work of local LGBTQ+ migrant organisations, NGOs, and peer support programme managers.
Speakers included Sebastian Aguirre and Shaan Knan. Performers included Ciarán Hodgers, Kai-Isaiah Jamal, Keith Jarrett, PJ Samuels. DJ sets by Naeem Davis (BBZ London) & Nadine Artois (Pxssy Palace). The event took place in April 2019.

Concerning Violence
I planned and organised a public screening of Concerning Violence at Hyde Park Picturehouse in Leeds. This was organised to coincide with the Archives of Resistance conference which took place in June 2018.
The film introduced by Katucha Bento and followed by a Skype Q&A with director Göran Olsson. The film is based on Frantz Fanon’s The Wretched of the Earth.
Life Narratives in an Age of Human Rights
With colleagues from the University of Leeds, I organised the symposium ‘Life Narratives in an Age of Human Rights’ ,as well as a knowledge exchange event with museum professionals. This took place in Johannesburg, South Africa in June 2017.
Durban Holocaust and Genocide Centre
During work at the Durban Holocaust and Genocide Centre I worked with members of the Rwandan community in Durban to organise a commemoration event. I also assisted with the development of the Centre’s exhibition and education programmes.
Critical Life
I conceptualized the digital Critical Life project and developed it in its initial stages (2017-February 2018), in collaboration with members of the Critical Life research group at the University of Leeds. This project aimed to use the digital to open up dialogue around contemporary research, focusing on questions of what it means to live and read 'critically' in the present through contributions from researchers as well as writers and activists.
Touching Worlds
I assisted with the coordination of Touching Worlds, a day of talks and performance exploring the sense of touch (September 2018).
